Stockholm Civil Society Days

The Stockholm civil Society Days (SCSD) – co-organized by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and CONCORD Sweden – will be taking place in Stockholm on 20-22 September. The focus of this year’s SCSD is on the theme of shrinking civic space. The Task Team will be organizing the session Switching gears: Imagine you are someone else! Shift positions between CSO, donor and partner country government representative, which is taking place on Friday 22 September at 10:00 AM.

The Task Team will have its next bi-annual meeting in Brussels on 8-9 November 2017.

Task Team bi-annual meeting
The Task Team’s last bi-annual meeting was held on 5-6 April 2017 in Paris.

GPEDC’s Second High Level Meeting (HLM2) 

The HLM2 took place in Nairobi from November 28 to December 1. The first two days were preparatory days while the high level segment took place on the last two days. The Task Team engaged in HLM2 through a plenary session on multi-stakeholder partnerships, an amphitheatre session on the enabling environment for partnerships and a side-event. Task Team bi-annual meeting
The Task Team’s last  bi-annual meeting was held on 13-14 October 2016 at the International Institute of Social Studies  in The Hague.

European Development Days 2016 (15-16 June, Brussels)
The Task Team will be involved in a brainstorming lab session. More information to follow.

Technical Seminar with EU Member States’ Experts – Development Effectiveness (25-26 April, Brussels)
The Task Team contributed to session 5 on multi-stakeholder partnerships in the GPEDC and the High-Level Meeting.

European Policy Forum for Development (14-16 March) & CSO Forum (17-18 March)
The Task Team was represented at the European Policy Forum for Development.

The Task Team held a bi-annual meeting  in Stockholm on 15-16 October 2015.

Multi-stakeholder Initiatives Studies – final workshop
The Task Team has commissioned studies on what contributes to good performance of multi-stakeholder initiatives (MSIs). Case studies are being developed in Costa Rica, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan and Indonesia. From July 12-15 researchers from these countries came to the ISS to discuss their findings with the academic coordinators, Prof. Alan Fowler and Dr. Kees Biekart.

European Development Days 2015
Together with the CPDE and the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC), the Task Team engaged in a session at the 2015 European Development Days (EDD2015) on “Multi-stakeholder partnerships for inclusive development and the post-2015 agenda”. This brainstorming lab aimed to discuss a number of dilemmas related to inclusive partnerships and the post-2015, assessing what role and to what degree multi-stakeholder partnerships – involving governments, the private sector and civil society at all scales of governance – are to play in ensuring that development delivers for people on the ground beyond 2015. Co-chair Modibo Makalou was on the panel representing the Task Team.

EDD2015 were held in Brussels on 3-4 June 2015.

Task Team bi-annual meeting
The Task Team meets approximately twice a year. Its most recent meeting was held in Paris on 29-30 April 2015 at the OECD. The meeting was well-attended by Task Team participants from the three stakeholder groups (provider government, recipient government and CSOs) from various corners of the world.

During the two days of intensive dialogue and exchange, the Task Team discussed various issues, including Global Partnership Initiative-12, Indicator 2 of the Monitoring Frameowork of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation as well as the Post-2015 Development Agenda. .

Focus Session at the High Level Meeting of the GPEDC
15 April 2014 (Mexico City, Mexico)

On April 15, 2014 the Task Team successfully organized a Focus Session at the first High Level Meeting (HLM) of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation, which took place in Mexico City 15-16 April 2014.
