Activities
As a convenor, we bring together development cooperation providers (donors),
partner country governments and CSOs to engage in open and inclusive dialogue
to find common ground. As a knowledge broker, we raise awareness on
international commitments on CSOs in development and offer guidance,
evidence and practical tools to further their implementation.

The Online Interactive Guidance
The Task Team’s Online Interactive Guidance on “Effective Engagement of Civil Society in Development” is now available on the open online course provider Coursera.
This Online Interactive Guidance is designed to build awareness on the need to engage civil society organizations in development processes. The scale and ambition of the Sustainable Development Goals requires participation of all development actors, including CSOs, to ensure its implementation. Effective engagement of CSOs in development to achieve the SDGs is a shared responsibility: Governments, Donors, and CSOs all have a role to play to help maximize CSOs’ contributions to development. But what is needed for CSOs to be able to do so? This Online Interactive Guidance offers some answers to that question.
This online interactive version of the Task Team’s Guidance and Good Practice consists of five modules. Each module starts with an animated video introducing the topic and is followed by good practice examples; insights from the field in the form of video interviews; in-depth readings; and an online activity.
Enrollment for the Online Guidance is now open and free to all. To enroll:
- Go to https://coursera.org/learn/effective-engagement-of-civil-society-in-development;
