Activities
As a convenor, we bring together development cooperation providers (donors),
partner country governments and CSOs to engage in open and inclusive dialogue
to find common ground. As a knowledge broker, we raise awareness on
international commitments on CSOs in development and offer guidance,
evidence and practical tools to further their implementation.

Virtual Task Team “Touch base”
On 11 & 12 May 2020 the Task Team connected over 30 participants from 5 continents during the first Virtual TT “Touch base”. The focus of day 1 was to stay connected, as well as share, update and discuss the current situation and the role of civil society in the face of the Covid-19 crisis. Day 2 focused on providing updates on the Task Team’s work and current activities. Professors Kees Biekart and Alan Fowler presented the findings of the 2020 Task Team Studies, centered on a 6 country research project on helping and hindering factors for effective CSO participation in the SDGs. The GPEDC Joint Support Team also provided an update on the 2020-2022 Work Programme, including action area 2.4 on civil society partnerships, in which the Task Team is an active contributor. This was complemented by a presentation from the CPDE, as fellow participant in this action area, on CPDE’s contributions to the new work programme. Finally, the TT Secretariat shared an update on the Task Team’s digitalization process, with plans to develop digital tools and resources to explore creative means of engagement for the Task Team.
