Activities
As a convenor, we bring together development cooperation providers (donors),
partner country governments and CSOs to engage in open and inclusive dialogue
to find common ground. As a knowledge broker, we raise awareness on
international commitments on CSOs in development and offer guidance,
evidence and practical tools to further their implementation.

Task Team Synthesis Studies Workshop
The Studies Synthesis Workshop took place on Tuesday 25 & Wednesday 26 February 2020, at the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam (ISS), in The Hague, The Netherlands under the guidance of the Principle Researchers Alan Fowler (emeritus professor at ISS) and Kees Biekart (Associate Professor at ISS).
The research study focused on ‘What factors in a country’s environment help or hinder effective CSO participation in SDG-related processes and how is this practically felt/experienced.” A number of case studies were researched in six different countries: Costa Rica, Ghana, Lao PDR, Tanzania, Nepal and Hungary. The purpose of this workshop was to share country findings and identify some cross-cutting conclusions. These conclusions were, as far as possible, discussed and mapped under the Task Team’s four-part framework. With the information gathered from this workshop, the Principle Researchers are now drafting the synthesis report.
